Is your business website legal?

Written by Andrew Larkin

Take a quick look to see if your business website ticks all the legal boxes.

We all know legislation changes from time to time so it is now wonder we don't always keep up to date.  With regards to the internet, governments are playing catch up with the technology so legal requirements can be put in place which are not always publicised as well as they should be.

Even the simplest of business websites are legally required to have:
  • Company information: name, place of registration, registered address and registered number.
  • Privacy policy: if you collect ANY personal details you need to show you conform to the Data Protection Act.

There is also the small matter of Website Accessibility which means your website has to conform to the Disabilities Discrimination Act by ensuring people with disabilities are able to use and operate your website.  Want to find out more?  Call our Website Advice Hotline on 0800 756 5620!

Alternatively we can offer a Business Website Audit which will tell you everything you need to address and you can simply hand this to your website provider for them to sort out - pure and simple.
